Many players have preferred the sound and feel that is accomplished through the use of metal versus plastic valve guides. Metal guides can provide more resonance and a more "solid" feel than plastic guides. The down side is they are sometimes noisier than plastic guides.

Brass W/insert

These guides are made of brass with plastic inserts at the contact point with the spring barrel. This makes them quiet like plastic but have the mass of brass.

Dynasound

Developed by Vicente Honorato of Stomvi in 2008, Dynasound are the "Rolls Royce" of valve guides. They are made of brass with plastic inserts at the contact point with the spring barrel. This makes them quiet like plastic but have the mass of brass. They come with 2 sets of inserts; one set of brass, and one set of copper allowing you to "dial in" the amount of mass that works best for you.

They are available for V~Raptors, VRII, and all other Stomvi trumpets as well as Bach trumpets. There are 7 different weight configurations available to you ranging from 3 to 13.5 grams. Some examples are listed below:

1. 3 grams with no inserts.
2. 9 grams with copper inserts.
3. 12 grams with brass inserts.
